Ok, since this meme's got me interested...

1. Called Mission Control at the Johnson Space Center during the middle of an Apollo flight, and actually talked with someone there. (It was Apollo 8, while they were in orbit around the moon).

2. Drove from Fairbanks, Alaska to Charlotte, North Carolina.

3. Met Chuck Yeager purely at random waiting at an airport terminal. (He was flying in, I was flying out... I even got him to autograph his autobiography).

4. Survived being hit by a car. (Ok, so I ended up underneath the car with just a few bumps and scratches. He turned into me while I was crossing the street.)

5. Survived Hurricane Betsy, Camille, Andrew, Georges, Ivan and a dozen lesser storms.

6. Watched thousands of Canadian geese flying overhead on their annual migration. From my porch when I was living in Fairbanks.

7. Flew over Denali (Mt. McKinley for the uninformed) in a C-130 cargo plane.

8. Stood along the bank of the Yellowstone River, just outside Gardiner, Montana, on a clear night with a full moon, and having elk and deer walking past me without any concern.

9. Having a bison stick his snout through the open window of the car also while in Yellowstone.

10. Being the main character in a fantasy novel.

1. Nope.
2. Does being at the Charlotte end of the trip count?
3. Nope..but grew up near the bridge he flew under.
4. Yup..in fact, survived getting hit by 2 in a row, in under 90 seconds. Well, I was in one, too, which helped.
5. Well, not exactly from the same perspective...
6. Nope.
7. Nope.
8. Stood on the banks of the Mississippi on February 8, while miscellaneous two-legged animals ambled by in search of more beads and $3.00 quarts of beer.
9. Had a Lab/Chow mix stick his cold nose on my bare butt while I was asleep...no...that's not quite the same thing.
10. Eh...only my own.

PS. Run for the hills...She's baaaaack!
