...and now, the News.

Today was Election Day here in the US.  This means that after tonight, we'll get our peace and quiet back on the television (except for Faux News) and on the radio (except for Flush Loudmouth).  Which will be very nice in my mind, I'm tired of the year-round campaigns that have become the norm.

What we need is like other countries.  A cooling off period right before the election of about a week, where there would be no town halls, no rallies, no advertisements, no television, no nothing.  That way people will have time to think about who they want without being pressured by the hot air and the spinmeisters.

Did I vote?  Of course I did.  I voted all the rascals out (every incumbent on the ballot) and voted for the best qualified out of what was left.  *chuckle*  As for the amendments, the only ones I agreed with was one giving tax relief to those who own land that they are setting up as a conservation, and a local option tax for community colleges.  As for the religious one defining marriage, it got a big giant ***NO*** from me.

Yeah, I know.  I ain't your typical Republican.  I still have my conscience and my morals.

What we also need is for Election Day to be on a Sunday, like in other countries. In Canada, a campaign is six weeks. Period.
