Budget plans go astray...

Ah well.  Got word from mshollie that her system (the Windows box, not the MacBook) just decided to take a dump today.  It had to do it after I came back from vacation and work.  Thanks, Murphy.  It just means that now the plans I had for upgrading my system (and hers in response) just got pushed to the front of the line.  So my EIP payout will be going mostly to the building of what's already being nicknamed Megawolfzilla.

The specs?  Quad core Intel chip, Abit motherboard, 8gb memory (yes, you read that right), 500gb hard drive, Antec P182 case and OCZ power supply, and associated minor stuff.  The OS?  WinXP x64 and Vista 64 on separate drives.

As for Aki, she gets a dual core AMD system, Abit motherboard, 250gb drive, video card, DVD/RW drive and 2gb of memory.  And Windows XP Pro.  That'll keep her happy for a while.  *chuckle*

The new system is nice, but I want to have this system fixed so I can recover my data. I can use the Mac for now (I'm on infrogmation's Mac at the moment), but I'd like to recover my Wild Tchoupitoulas tracks so I can listen to them.

Yeah, yesterday sucked boulders through a coffee straw. I get the Windows XP logo, then...blank screen. Makes me more and more of a Mac person every day. Macs don't crash like that. I'm sure they do crash, but less often, one would hope.
