The blond leading the blind?

I don't know if anyone's been following the World Series of Poker, but the Main Event is underway right now in Las Vegas at the Rio.  Over 6,000 players paid $10,000 at a shot at the big prize.  Well, one of those players was a person named Hal Lubarsky, who was a fairly decent player to begin with.  But add in the fact that he is legally blind, and you now have the makings for a very incredible story.

Using an assistant who whispers what his cards and the board cards are, he managed to keep track of his game sufficiently to make it through to day 4 of the tournament.  He busted out today around 4pm Vegas time, but not before finishing an astonishing 197th (or 193rd, depending on the site).  For this, he won over $51,000... $41,000 more than the starting fee.

It just goes to show, even the blind can play the blinds at the table and beat you.  *chuckle*
