Gotta love eBay sometimes...

I've been watching for the last hour a series of auctions, all with one theme.  These are actual NASA prints from the Apollo 15, 16 and 17 missions which are being sold today.  So far, the lowest winning bid was $104 for a single shot of a field of moon rocks!!  Images with the astronauts have been going for around $150 each, with one going for over $300... but the hot item was a shot of the American Flag with the Earth just above it.  Final bid?  Hold on to your hats, kids... $293.99.  I expected this one to crack at least $300, but I think by this point all the high bidders had blown their stacks of cash already.

Still it was amusing to watch these folks going after this stuff.  These weren't the repro images you see, they had the NASA stamp and the ID (like AS17-134-20466) in red on the upper left hand corner, which means they're the authentic thing.

I could only wish to have that sort of budget.

Don't tell me things like that. I'd kill my budget to have one or two authentic NASA prints from the Apollo missions. But if he's interested...
