The other resident of the house

Ok, this is going to take some explaining.  Living here in Florida, we have a somewhat interesting variety of wildlife.  One day I cam home from work and found a hawk sitting in the front yard.  Another day I come home and there's a coyote wandering the streets.  There there was the day I had to go around an eastern diamondback rattler in the road.

This afternoon, I was heading to the local convenience store, and when I opened up the garage door, there was a five-lined skink laying in the driveway.  This wasn't a little skink, she was about 7 inches long from snout to tailtip, just laying there in the sun.  So... I grabbed the camera and took a picture.  You can see it here.

When I said she, it was definitely female.  As skinks get older, their tails turn different colors.  Males go brown, while the females turn blue.  And hers was a very good color of blue.

Ooh! Lucky!

We have lots of lizards around us, but none like this little lady. She's a beauty. {SMILE} I definitely notice her turning blue around the tail, just like you said. That's neat! {BIG SMILE, REALLY BIG GRIN}
