Oh gods...

I have just seen a trailer for an upcoming film.

How many folks have read the syndicated comic strip "Over the Hedge"?

Ok, that's... two.

Dreamworks has made a movie of the comic. With voices by Bruce Willis, William Shatner, and Gary Shandling, among others. Will it place out as well as the comic strip? It looks amusing... but then again... so did other ideas, like Garfield. Or Bewitched.

Still, I like the comic strip. So who knows?

I've actually been looking forward to it since I heard it was going to be made into a picture 6? months ago. I expect Garfield-level, but I'll take it for the Shatner joke in the trailer alone.

It's gonna be better than "Garfield".
It's CGI, and it's based on a strip that's actually, you know, funny.

Actually, it's easy for something to be better than "Garfield", considering how bad it was.

I saw the teaser they had for it at Comic-Con last summer; I don't think the character designs really carry off the feel of the strip properly, but I'll reserve judgement on the movie until I see it -- the teasers don't give a good feel for whether it's going to incorporate much of the strip's humor themes.
