Life Under Linux

Ok, so I'm being silly with my system again. After the roommate managed to con Cox into upping our speed (special running for 9mb service right now), I decided to take the plunge with Linux again. This time I downloaded the DVD edition of SuSE Linux 10.0, loaded it on a spare 80gb drive, and took it out for a spin. First surprise, it recognizes my wireless card. Second surprise, I can run dual monitors with it. Third surprise, it works well enough for me to seriously consider switching over.

I won't fully switch, however, as there's things I need to do in Windows that are schoolwork-related. Since there is no Outlook Express version that'll sync with the servers for the school, I need to stay there. But later on I might switch over completely...

It's actually not that bad. Got OpenOffice loaded, got my chat client loaded with my contacts, got IRC and RealPlayer working, so I have music... and I can run tinyfugue for being on the Mucks. *chuckle* What else is really needed?

Well, besides a good drink and a vixen leaning over your shoulders...
