Idle Thoughts on a slow Tuesday

I have to admit, I probably missed having a net connection a lot more than I realized. This mind you after finally setting up a new account and being able to log in over the last few days at my leisure. *chuckle* You tend to rely on these things after a while, even with the vast availability while at work.

I had to admit I was highly amused at a recent comment by Tali in her postings, about online/RL relationships. I've known her for years on Furry and Furtoonia (a place I'm no longer present on) and it seems odd that some folks just automatically assume that you're involved. If that was the case, I'd be involved with at least a good dozen or two ladies I know, not to mention a whole batch of other fellow lunatics. *chuckle*

Truth is, I haven't been seriously involved in a relationship either in RL or online. Sure, I've known Aki for well over 20 years now, but we've never gone anywhere past good friends and occasional lovers. As for my other friends, it's pretty much the same... good friends, long-term friendships but no real ties that bind us together. Other than the occasional rope... and usually that's around my neck here.

Or as I like to put it, I'm a wild, not a domestic. *gryn*

Gotta admit working back in a military-oriented environment is amusing. Little bits and pieces of conversations float around you and you hear strange things mentioned... none of which I can ever repeat, even here. That's the down side. Something known as the Export Control Act, and I'm under it's jurisdiction. So while I might talk about how slow or busy I am, I can't talk about WHAT I'm doing. Especially in a public access forum like this one. It's just the nature of the beast here.

Security is one of those things you just have to take in stride and keep in the back of your mind. I have friends all around the world thanks to the internet and FurryMuck, but at the same time, I have to remember that they are outside of the US, and because of that, I have to always watch what I say when the topic of work comes up. It's one of those things that you learn to do automatically.

Then again, I do have a friend who was a service member in Her Majesty's Air Force and flew Harrier jets. Our conversations during the Bosnian days were... interesting, to say the least. *gryn* Of course, I wasn't working for Boeing then.

Three and a half weeks, and I'll have my new apartment. What I need is a theme for the place. Any suggestions?

Shifty Decor
Well, other than the obvious lupine themes... <heh>
I'm seeing silver, lots of fluid organic curves. <grin>
Or at least a lava lamp.

Thank you *so* much. I just tried to picture you domesticated, and my brain imploded. *grin*

As far as decor, you're asking the wrong person. I tend to decorate in a combination of Neo-Geek and Ikea.

This conversation ********************** military.
Hee, I know how that goes. Its the same in a research institute. Anything you present or talk about you have to put through a lot of internal filters to be sure you're not breaching contract/secracies/oaths. So I can talk about what I'm generally doing, but not about any sort of results.

The Tal & Aki Show!
Yeah, we're a couple, all right. A couple of what...well, that's for the rest of the world to figure out. ;)
