Reliving the Childhood

Went out to Wal-Mart tonight, mostly for picking up groceries, but while wandering I spotted something on the shelves that I just had to go ahead and pick up. Jonny Quest - The Complete First Season (there never was a second season) is definitely one of those 'if you remember watching it way back when, you'll love this set.' I do remember watching Jonny Quest way back when in the 60's, and still enjoy watching the originals. So this goes into the collection...

Whee! Now, I've gotta wait for Nausicaa to be released...

"Wacky Races: The Complete Series" also came out on DVD!
I would have bought that instead of Toby Danger (har-har), but that's just me.
I watched "Wacky Races" all the time when I was a kid back in France.
Heck, the maid used to watch it with us (me and my brother).
My parents got annoyed at that, so the maid started coming in earlier so she could
make up the time she lost watching "Wacky Races" with us. It was pretty funny.

The show was called "Les Fous Du Volant" in France.
That loosely translates to "Steering-Wheel Maniacs".
A good punny contextual translation would be "Steer-ing Crazies" (argh!).

I've seen a couple of "Johnny Quest" episodes. The look is interesting.
It reminds me of a European graphic novel from the 50's, like "Tintin" or
"Blake And Mortimer". So it looks like an animated graphic novel.

Now if the Perils of Penelope Pitstop were on DVD, I'd snap that up in a hurry.

I'll take Wacky Races, though. Penny was my heroine. :)
