Travels with Farley

I've come to the conclusion that trying to get a decent rate for travel is either difficult or downright impossible at times. Take for instance my earlier comment about my company's special. Yes, they advertised a 15% discount on flight/hotel deals through American Airlines. What they did NOT state anywhere in the article or on the website was that Las Vegas was EXCLUDED from this.

Grr. Grr. Grr.

Mind you, I found this out after four attempts to reach them, either being shoved into a phone queue to never be answered or placed into an automatic 'please leave a message' spot. Once I did get someone physcially on the line, the moment I mentioned Las Vegas, all the circuit breakers tripped. *sigh*

Ah well. Try this: Travel for two from New Orleans to Vegas, and 7 nights at the Stratosphere. $751.30. Add in trip protection and it's $807.64. Ok, that's still reasonable, no?

Well, I'd likely not take the trip protection. After all, it's not worth it for $56 when I have enough insurance on my hide as it is. (2.5x base salary courtesy of my employer... for no charge).

[Hey, put down that missile...]
