It's too early in the morning...

...but I had to try and get some photos of tonight's lunar eclipse.  Here's the best one I could do, considering...

Not the best I know, but still, it's good considering that I had to move the telescope into a position that was a little on the unstable side.

Still was pretty tonight.

That is beautiful. Thanks for sharing, as I'd quite solid cloud cover last night.

Well, I actually got up at 1:45am, went outside and saw absolutely gorgeous skies. Perfectly clear, constellations visible all around from Ursa Major and Leo to Orion and Canis Major. And the moon was in Gemini, a dark red glow in place of the usual silvery shine.

My issue is that the way I had to take the image required the telescope to be leaning, and the exposure be around 2 seconds for a decent shot... which meant you had the moon and sky moving, hence the fuzziness instead of the sharp image from a few days before. Did the best I could given the conditions... still would have liked better.

Oooh, Eclipse-y
Well done.

I stayed up for it (actually took a nap then got back up), it was nice and clear here in New Orleans.
